Kappa Delta Sorority Supports Prevent Child Abuse America
Prevent Child Abuse America
Our Efforts
In 1981, Kappa Delta adopted Prevent Child Abuse America as its National philanthropy. Founded by a Kappa Delta Sister, PCAA is committed to preventing the abuse and neglect of our nation's children. Prevention efforts include all forms of abuse and neglect, whether physical, sexual, educational, or emotional.
Why Prevention Matters
Every year, more than 3 million reports of child abuse are made in the US, involving more than 6 million children. It occurs at all socioeconomic levels, across all ethnic and cultural lines, at all levels on education, and can impact their whole lives. The investment in a child abuse prevention strategy and healthy child development is a contribution to the betterment of society, the economy, and the life of each child reached.

Since 1983, Kappa Delta has raised more than $21 million for the prevention of child abuse, $2.3 million in the last academic year alone. Shamrock events were not only started as a fundraising effort for PCAA, but also serves as a way for us to educate our members and our community on preventing child abuse in our country.
How you can help
Each year, of the funds raised through Kappa Delta's Shamrock event, 80% go towards PCAA's local efforts at the Children's Advocacy Center of Denton County and 20% is donated through the Kappa Delta Foundation to their national efforts.
